Calling You Home is a series of events, experiences, workshops and discussions curated to ignite or embolden your personal journey, while fostering community in healing, exploration and discovery - especially during a time when sharing in community has been made more challenging.

AVVI Experience, based in LA, and We are Formless, based in London, joined together to exchange energy and ideas and to create something that spans oceans (and universes). With an aim to demystify and make-accessible healing modalities and ancient wisdom that often can seem ethereal, confusing or out-of-touch. And also to introduce space for anyone to explore their 'heroine's journey' (in contrast to the pervasive hero's journey).

We've made the offerings 'a la carte' so that you can select and participate in any event or series that resonates with you - nearly all at a pay-what-you-can accessible rate.

The events: from yoga, to mind-mapping; art and tea ceremonies; astrology, tarot & akashic record reading, inspirational & explorative discussions to silent meditation, are all designed to elevate and expand as you experience them together (though they each stand strong and will resonate if experienced singularly).

A Deep Dive into the Heroine's Journey

led by AVVI Co-Founder, Christine Grimm

Maureen Murdock is generally regarded as the first to chart an alternative to Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey narrative paradigm that she believed is more appropriate for women’s life journeys. As a student of Campbell’s, Murdock, came to believe that the Hero’s Journey model did not adequately address the psycho-spiritual journey of women. She developed a model of a heroine’s journey based on her work with women in therapy.

During this in-depth workshop, coach and master teacher, Christine Grimm will guide you deep into understanding the milestone experiences and personal transformative processes of The Heroine’s Journey, as originally presented by author and therapist, Maureen Murdock. We will look at the archetypes often presented in popular culture and how the heroine’s journey is similar and different than the commonly presented path of the masculine hero.

Identity As Purpose - Practicing the Art of Peace + Self Acceptance

led by AVVI Coach, Eugenie Bostrom

Writing Your Desires brings peace & requires it - knowing what you want, allowing yourself to want it, & articulating it takes practice.

“Write it down, make it happen” is a mantra of many coaches, and manifesting gurus but knowing how to articulate your desires can be challenging enough; understanding the internal blockages that may be challenging you from fully accessing or allowing your desires is a whole other peace-seeking mission.

In this writing workshop and live discussion, coach and author Eugenie Bostrom helps guide you through the art of finding the peace to write and the peace in writing - about whatever you want - really.

Identity as Purpose: De-Stigmatizing Trauma

led by AVVI Coach, Eugenie Bostrom

Acknowledging, accepting, and grieving lived or inherited trauma is essential to living a life of purpose & it's made easier in community.

The pain you’ve felt, or the burden’s you've shouldered have helped to make you who you are today, and for that there is gratitude, but also grief. We’ve all felt pain, and really, pain knows no hierarchy, so everyone’s trauma deserves to be felt, addressed and lessened in the sharing.

We hope to build a community that aims to destigmatize trauma, and in this session we’ll collectively watch Love(d), a documentary film that follows an intensive grief-healing retreat in the English countryside. Following the viewing, we’ll share a live discussion and Q & A with two of the documentary’s participants, one based in London, one based in Los Angeles.

The Astrological Cycles of Our Lives (Pre-recorded)

led by Heidi Rose Robbins and AVVI Co-Founder, Karuna Mirchandani

In our astrological charts, Jupiter and Saturn are two great planets of growth and opportunity. Jupiter rules expansion and Saturn rules structure and discipline. During this conversation, we’ll explore the cycles of these two planets and how they directly affect our growth, creating testing and expanding periods at specific ages in our lives.

We will be talking about two of the most important planets in the astrological chart— Jupiter and Saturn. Jupiter takes 12 years to orbit the Sun and Saturn takes 30 years. These cycles directly affect our lives. During this conversation, we will break down the 7-year cycles of Saturn bringing testing and maturity. We’ll also explore the growth and fruition that can occur every 4 years of the Jupiter cycle. These planets DIRECTLY impact our growth and when we know the timing of these cycles, we can work with the energy in profound ways. You will be surprised how accurate these cycles feel in the unfolding of your life!

Remote Distance Energy Healing

led by Karuna Mirchandani, AVVI Co-Founder

Remote Energy Healing may sound mystic, but it's not all that ethereal; it's actually an ancient practice that aligns with quantum modalities.

The same techniques energy-workers, such as Reiki Masters, use in-person can also be carried out through distance healing, as the work depends on the focused vibrational energy and the intent of the healer and the recipient. This exercise helps to clear energy blocks; heal, open and energize the chakras.

The experience begins with a 30 minute intention setting session and a guided grounding meditation. For the rest of the hour, you will receive blasts of powerful directed healing energies.

Ho’oponopono Forgiveness Journaling Workshop

led by Christine Grimm, AVVI Co-Founder

This workshop will teach you to tap into the power of Ho’oponopono, The Hawaiian Forgiveness Prayer. This simple yet elegant prayer is a foundational part of Polynesian shamanistic healing systems, ceremonies, and rituals.

Ho’oponopono is a simple way of arriving at unity, inner peace and returning to harmony. Ho’o means ‘to make’ and pono is translated ‘right’ or ‘correct.’ It follows that ponopono would be ‘rightly right,’ and so Ho’oponopono quite simply represents ‘to make rightly right.’ To ‘make anything rightly right’ means to join oneself again with one’s Higher Self and the Source of All Being – to be in one’s own center, returned to harmony, and balanced once again so that one is able to realign the environment and reshape reality.

This workshop will include simple journaling techniques to help you focus on the situations and relationships, past and present, that you want to bring into a new state of peace.

To make ‘make rightly right’ means an intention, after veering off course, to bring oneself back onto the right road, becoming sound in body and spirit and achieving happiness and wellbeing.
